Independent Psychological Evaluations

Independent psychological evaluations serve a very specific and unique purpose. They are NOT for the purpose of treatment/management of a mental health condition. Instead, they are intended to answer a specific question related to an administrative matter or decision. For example, an evaluation for Veteran disability benefits or FERS medical disability retirement evaluation requires an opinion on a disability matter but does not involve recommendations for treatment or management of the condition. Evaluations in this category include:

  • VA Disability Evaluations

  • FERS Disability Retirement Evaluations

Not Sure Which Evaluation You Need?

Different evaluation types have different goals, documentation requirements, and clinical standards. If you are unsure which service fits your situation, please review the service descriptions carefully before scheduling. If after reviewing the options, you still aren’t sure, contact us via our inquiry page - be sure to provide enough detail to help us understand what you need help with.

Evaluations are based on clinical findings, functional impairment, treatment needs, available records, and professional judgment. Documentation and recommendations are provided when clinically appropriate.
